why
Vinifying a white wine as you would a red by leaving the skins in contact with the juice (skin maceration) lends our wine both a slightly orange colour and its name. With its complexity, freshness and mineral flavours, combined with notes of quince and citrus, this orange wine takes us on a new aromatic journey.
It pays homage to an ancient Georgian winemaking technique, dating back over 5000 years, in which the grapes are fermented and macerated in large jars known as Qveri. This wine will surprise many a wine drinker!
Grape Varieties & Terroirs
80% Gros Manseng on “sables fauves” (tawny-coloured sand) with grapes harvested overripe to give the wine more body
20% Sauvignon on chalky soil which provides a lively acidity on the palate and thereby balances the blend.
